The reason of the "Hi-Fi Bearers" campaign
"High Fidelity": who and when heard this expression for the first time? The less younger generation, if they knew a little English, used to read Wireless World (UK) or Audio (USA) and know of the existance, still in embryo, of a movement called High Fidelity, which suggested a much better musical sound then that they were used to. In Italy the passion for this "better sound" exploded in the '70s, in which many technical magazines appeared, equipped to make complexed strumental tests, which inflammed hords of fans. The best way was to listen to music through powerful loudspeakers, closed eyes and letting oneself be rocked by the illusion of being surrrounded by a real orchestra, from the deep bass of tymbals and contrabasses and by the high, fine, detailed, and silvery sounds. And today? Why hasn't the number of Audio Hi-Fi fans grown nor kept its number? Simply because technological progress has given the public new stimulus and has faded the characteristic figure of the High Fidelity fan, who knew the difference between listening to music and listening to it with quality. This figure has been replaced with that of boys whizzing along, with earphones stuck in their ears and ten thousand songs in the shirt pocket. So, the treasure of sound, reserved only for fans, has been distribuited to an enormous body of new followers, it's also true that these are followers of an "easy an practical sound", not necessarily of quality. And to think that today progress is such that the real fan has fantascientific means at his disposal which were unimmaginable at the beginning of High Fidelity! It's enough to think of Home Theatre systems with multichannel technics, amplifiers and loudspeakers able to make the music reach basic C at 16 Hz, but also to riproduce sounds which make chandeliers swing, move chairs, as in earthquakes or the passing of heavy vehicles, or an airsqad flying low. Without reaching this extremes there's all the room to listen to "The Heroic Symphony of Beethoven" or to "The Barber of Seville" of Rossini, or a nice live concert in relaxation, not only listening to the thundering bass sounds, but also to the whispered pianissimi… Better in a concert hall.Today, having at our disposal a technology able to not only make the dreams in the past come true, but also to create new ones. All those who love listening to music (young and not so young), do they know that they can change there homes into a large and equipped music room, like the studios of Abbey Road, the Royal Festival Hall and The Metropolitan Theatre? Well, we are here to make a contribution to those interested, so that they feel the the differences. So, all those present on the web who think they contribute to the spreading of Audio and High Fidelity, should inform those who would like, could, but don't know how to. The "Hi-Fi Bearers" campaign is a mean to acquaint everyone of all that exists on the web in this field and that there are not only earplugs to listen to music.
Aim
The aim of this campaign is to obtain a big list, containing all those present on the web, that think they help spread Audio Hi-Fi and want to show off their contribution. These can be private people, firms, publishers, builders, importers, distributors, forums, whoever works in the field personally or professionally. If there is interest, we will dedicate a space to list and supply a link to the site of all those which will have agreed to this campaign. In this way who is interested in the world of Audio Hi-Fi or who wishes to know it, with this list will have at this disposal a big window on the subject, so as to widen his horizons and enrichen his own knowledge. Anyone on the web can contribute even if he isn't in the Audio Hi-Fi field.
